Excellent Smith Machine for the Price, May 2, 2009 By This review is from: Powertec Smith Machine (Bench Sold Separately) (Misc.) I decided to write a review for this equipment as I purchased one recently. I took somewhat of a chance as there were very few reviews on the Powertec Roller Smith (the newer version of this product). I only had the good name and reputation of Powertec to go on. I only purchase quality brand name gym equipment. For example, I have a LifeFitness elliptical and stationary bike just like the ones at my gym. I also have a set of Powerblocks and a Body Solid lat/seated row machine.
It should be noted that I am a 48 year old who is past his heavy lifting days. My days of lifting for weight are over. The most I put on the bar these days is a 45 and 25 on each side (185 lbs. free weight). I also purchased the utility bench that Powertec sells as well. That was a very good purchase too. I wanted the roller smith to make sure I wouldn't get stuck without a spotter. I also have a 14 year old son who wants to start lifting and I can't always be with him when he wants to... Read more
