I read the previous reviewer's 4-star critique and I have to agree, putting this machine together was something else. I followed the directions and opened the box correctly and except for Step 2 (putting the legs on the body) in which I had to struggle to line up the bolts with the holes, the first six steps were completed within half hour.
The next six or seven steps were miserable. The holes in the upright pole did not line up well at all, thus I have only four of the six bolts connected. Trying to put in those bolts alone, readjusting the pole to force the holes to line up, dropping the tool inside the body countless times took over 30 minutes. Even the drink bottle bolt holes were uneven and only one bolt holds that together. After installing the computer I missed my 30-second window to enter the date and time and there are no directions to do this after the fact. A separate piece of paper comes with the computer, supposedly updated instructions? But these... Read more

The Helix lateral trainer is a unique exercise machine. I am used to jogging both outdoors and on a tread mill. I also use different types of exercise bikes. Helix is totally different.Spending 10 minutes on it was enough to feel the difference, muscles i did not even know exists began to ache. Normally, i jog outdoors and on the treadmill for between 45 minutes to 1hr at average speed. I have only been able to last 15 minutes on the helix so far. I will be able to tell the difference physically after a while though.
I gave the Helix 4 stars because it is difficult to set up. Don't be like me, I tried setting it up alone, it took 3 hours, many bruises and aches.The parts are heavy and it is not an exercise machine to be set up by a person not physically fit. After i succeeded in assembling it, i could not use it for the next 3 days (actually you wont need to , setting up is exercise enough)as i had aches all over. GET HELP, at least two strong people are needed to set up,... Read more

AWESOME piece of equipment!!, July 12, 2011 By This review is from: Helix Lateral Trainer (Sports) For years I've used treadmills and ellipticals without much progress. After getting the Helix through the recommendation of a friend the fat started to fall off. I was shocked at how good I feel after using it. I've been telling all my friends and family about it and heard back similiar results!
